Wanting to downsize?

PART-exchange schemes offered by specialist retirement developer McCarthy & Stone are coming to the rescue of older buyers wanting to downsize but unable to sell their old homes.

The deals are available on developments through the UK.

Three independent valuations are taken on the seller's existing property and an offer made based on the median figure. It also saves on agents fees.

At least one buyer has used the deal at Cestrian Court, in Chester-le-Street, Co Durham, where there are two show-home apartments priced at £159,950 and £164,950.
