THE former town hall at Ampthill, Bedford, is to be converted into apartments.

The listed building above which was designed by Sir Albert Richardson, a renowned enthusiast of the Georgian period, will offer 26 apartments and 10,000 square feet of office space.

The developer Storey Homes has also received permission for several new-build apartments and houses at the rear of the development.

Work on phase one of The Limes, the conversion of the existing office building into one, two and threebedroom apartments, has started. All homes will have a full NHBC 10-year warranty. Prices have yet to be announced.

Three Georgian-style houses in a gated development in Brentwood, Essex (right), have just been launched to the market. The executive five-bedroom homes by Charles Church have been created with families in mind and will be marketed from approximately £950,000.

Purchasers will be able to personalise their new homes through the company's Finishing Touches range of upgrades.

The homes form part of the Weald Park development which includes more than nine acres of green space.

Brentwood is an ideal spot for London commuters and the town offers many amenities. There are several schools on the development's doorstop.
